You may know it as YSGIVINGTUESDAY, but this year, we are calling it YSCaringTuesday.

The season of giving is here, and there’s no better time to lift up our community. This year in Yellow Springs, we’re renaming YSGivingTuesday to what it truly represents: YSCaringTuesday. The Yellow Springs Community Foundation is matching your gifts to local nonprofits by contributing dollar for dollar to the YS Food Security and Wellbeing Fund. That means your gift goes twice as far, supporting your favorite local organizations while also helping neighbors who need a helping hand.

YSCaringTuesday runs for 24 hours on Tuesday, December 2nd, from midnight to 11:59 pm. It’s a convenient way to direct your annual giving to a variety of local organizations all in one place. This year, we’re supporting 37 local nonprofits and a variety of scholarship funds and community organizations.

The Foundation makes giving easy by waiving administrative fees (except credit card fees), and we’ve updated the YSCaringTuesday website to make donating even simpler. We’re also spreading the word through ads in the Yellow Springs News and on WYSO.

Last year, our community came together to raise approximately $38,000 for local organizations. This year, our goal is to reach 600 donations totaling $40,000. Every gift is tax-deductible and makes a real difference in our community.
