What has been happening at Roads to Recovery this year…
Dessert Fundraiser
Our October 2025 annual cheesecake fundraiser is complete! We had a great variety of delicious pies this year! This fundraiser is small but mighty and really helps our annual budget. On average, Roads make around $3,000 with little effort! This year we almost beat our 2023 total. In the past, we have used the money toward new curriculum, building improvements, and teacher materials. We will disperse the pies to the community on November 13th this year. Thank you to everyone who participated by purchasing a pie!
Camp 2025
Roads to Recovery hosted our 5th Annual Camp in August. 13 students attended this year! This year, Roads was awarded a $500 grant from the Fairborn Rotary Club to refresh camp supplies and enhance the campers experience! Camp is a great opportunity for students to enjoy a multitude of unique and fun summer time activities while practicing the everyday play and group skills that the students work hard towards learning all school year long. Each day has a special theme and matching spirit wear for all!
There are so many activities planned for each day that everyone is sure to find something they love doing. Roads rewards teachers who choose to work Camp Week with a free Roads logo t-shirt in the color of their choice as well as enjoying all the fun snacks that are provided each day. Not only does Camp Week make everyone feel refreshed with a break from academics but it also provides Roads with an income boost for the annual budget, in addition to the Ohio Autism Scholarship funding that each student receives yearly. Parents who attend typically apply for local grants through their county or Rotary Club to cover the cost of camp. Camp was introduced to Roads’ yearly calendar in 2020 when the board was strategizing ways to improve our yearly income! See our pictures showcasing this amazing week!
SOCHE and Roads to Recovery
We are happy to announce that our partnership with SOCHE (Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education continues! SOCHE compensates our eligible students for hours they spend working! Our current project is through partnership with Wright Patt Credit Union, compiling Money Maker kits for local schools and teachers! The kits are assembled by our students and sent to Crayons for Classrooms for teachers to obtain and use in their classrooms! The kits help students of all grade levels acquire money and financial literacy skills at their developmental level. We currently have three students in the SOCHE program and look forward to adding more as students become age-level eligible!
Golf Outing 2025
We had a very successful golf outing fundraiser this Summer! We feel great about our move from Sugar Valley Golf Club to Beavercreek Golf Club! We raised a little over $19,000 for Roads to Recovery- almost breaking our record year! We broke our record of Top Level Sponsors this year, with a whopping eight sponsors! We had a unique and exciting game this year, providing our most profitable interactive game ever!
YS News
This Spring, Roads to Recovery partnered with The Yellow Springs News to publish an article. Simone and Haley from the administration team and a Yellow Springs resident and parent at Roads were interviewed. The article was a great way to highlight our nonprofit and acknowledge that we were awarded a grant from the Yellow Spring Community Foundation to secure our outing van. The article was featured in print, as well as digitally.
