Established by the YSCF Board in 2004, The Charlotte Drake Youth Philanthropy Endowment was created to encourage our NextGen of young philanthropists to engage in the active philanthropic and grantmaking process.
The Youth Philanthropy Grants (aka Charlotte Drake) are dedicated to philanthropic projects (humanitarian or community based) of young people in grades K-12 in the Yellow Springs Schools. Applications are reviewed by the Youth Philanthropy Grant Review Committee, made up of students grades 4-12. Applications will be evaluated throughout the school year by peer review and often granted within the month of the application.
Applications are due on the first of each month and evaluated by the third week of the month by the committee. If granted, monies will be distributed by the final week of the month.
Applications are accepted through the Yellow Springs Community Foundation online portal. Students can apply for funds up to $500 per project. It is suggested that the students have a teacher, staff member, parent/guardian or community member as a mentor for the project. If the student applicant does not have a project mentor, the YSCF staff will provide one for you.
