The Foundation is happy to support our local organizations as a fiscal sponsor. Fees are associated with these services and operating responsibilities for both the Foundation and the organization.
3 Tiers of Administrative Support
Grant Funding Administrative Support
The Foundation provides fiscal sponsorship and administrative support for qualified organizations, permitting them to apply for grant funding from other 501c3 organizations. Funds are provided to the Foundation, and the program is paid for directly by the Foundation in accordance with the grant funding.
- A recent example: The Columbus Foundation’s Johnstone Fund for New Music grant awarded to Sound Spring Project.
Supplemental Administrative Support
The Foundation provides fiscal sponsorship and administrative back-office support for organizations. The Foundation sets up a system for accepting donations and paying program expenses. The organization is solely responsible for all fundraising, and the Foundation manages the processing.
- A recent example: The YS Dog Park works with the Foundation to accept donations that pay for services to keep the Dog Park functioning.
Comprehensive Administrative Support
The Foundation provides fiscal sponsorship and all administrative back-office support for the registered nonprofit/organization. This may include managing checking/saving accounts, check writing, reimbursements, and state filings. The nonprofit is solely responsible for all fundraising, and the Foundation manages the processing.
- A recent example: Sister Trillium/The Yellow Springs Creative Reuse Center is a newly formed organization that the Foundation is assisting with back-office administration as it becomes a nonprofit.
