In memory of native villager and longtime Yellow Springs News reporter Lauren Heaton, the News is raising funds for an annual scholarship in her name. The scholarship will be given to a qualifying Yellow Springs High School senior pursuing studies in journalism. Heaton, who died in 2019 at the age of 44, worked at the local paper for 15 years as a reporter, associate editor, columnist and photographer.
